Early morning futures action is currently pointing to a higher open, but trading has been choppy. The Commerce Dept. will release its monthly report on Housing Starts at 8:30 a.m., and the results could affect the open.

Asian stocks were mostly up overnight, with the Indian BSE Sensex posting a 1.3% gain. In Europe, most of the major indices are currently in the green, and the continental Stoxx 600 is up 0.4%.

This morning’s featured earnings slate includes Walmart (WMT), Home Depot (HD), and Kohl’s (KSS). After the close, look out for La-z-Boy (LZB) and Agilent Technologies (A).

Home Depot (HD)

It looks like the Spring lockdowns worked out pretty well for Home Depot. The home improvement retailer reported strong consumer spending on its Q2 earnings release this morning, and the surging sales helped the firm beat consensus estimates for earnings in the second quarter.

Shares of HD are surging on the retailers strong pandemic performance. HD is currently up 1.8% in the premarket, making it one of this morning’s top S&P 500 stocks.

Tesla Motors (TSLA)

Tesla is looking strong this morning after closing yesterday’s session at record-breaking highs. TSLA closing price on Monday marked a new all-time high for the stock, and it’s starting to seems like this stock is unstoppable. Tesla currently has a market capitalization of $342 billion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the S&P 500.

TSLA is carrying its record-setting momentum into this morning’s pre-market. It’s trading actively and it’s this morning’s top NASDAQ 100 gainer with a 2.8% advance.

MICT Inc. (MICT)

MICT announced today that its subsidiary Micronet Ltd. has secured its first large order for its cutting-edge SmartCam video telematics product. The firm is aiming to capture market share in the $45 billion global telematics market with the AI-infused device. Micronet received its first order after a successful pilot trial with an existing customer lead to a substantial order in the North American market.

MICT CEO: “We expect to ship and book revenues for this sizeable order towards the end the year… This first major sale justifies our recent investment into Micronet.”

The news is prompting a major rally in MICT. MICT is up 112.9% in the pre-market and it’s one of this morning’s top-gaining stocks.

Forward Industries (FORD)

Forward Industries shares are on the rise following the company’s announcement of a major acquisition after yesterday’s close. The firm says it has acquired Kablooe Design for an undisclosed sum. Kabloee is a Minneapolis-based medical and consumer design firm with a prestigious list of established clients, including Medtronic (MDT) and Boston Scientific (BSX). Early reports indicate the deal includes cash, equity, assumed debt, and contingent earn outs.

Investors are excited about the acquisition and the stock is reacting accordingly. FORD is up 52.8% and its one of the most active pre-market stocks.

Novabay Pharmaceuticals (NBY)

Novabay is gaining ground this morning after the company announced a new online distribution agreement with one of the world’s most powerful retailers. This morning, the company revealed that its Avenova facial sanitizer will now be available via Walmart.com. Novabay already sells the product on its own website and Amazon.com, but adding Walmart to the mix could lead to a major sales influx for the firm. Lab tests prove Avenova is effective against COVID-19 and is safe for facial use.

It looks like Novabay has a winner with Avenova. NBY is one of the pre-market’s most active stocks and its currently up 36.5%.
